American Pride Smoothie

We recently bought a new blender at the Turner residence and have been experimenting with some new smoothie recipes. Now, I've been making "protein shakes" for a very long time and over the years have stumbled upon some really good ones and some that went straight to the garbage disposal. I threw this one together the other day and really liked it and thought I would share it as it matches the theme of the upcoming Memorial Day holiday. So here you go...

Directions:

Simply add the ingredients below to your blender close the lid tightly and blend for about 1 minute or until everything is crushed up.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of frozen strawberries (we used Wegmans brand)
  • 8oz of vanilla flavored almond milk (we used Blue Diamond 80 cal)
  • 1/2 cup of vanilla greek yogurt (we used Wegmans brand)
  • 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries (we used Wegmans brand)

Optional Ingredients:
Add ice if you are using fresh fruit
Whipped cream (my 12 year old son adds this to every smoothie he makes)

Protein: 11 grams
Fat: 3 grams
Total Carbs: 36 grams
Fiber: 5 grams
Sugars: 31 grams
